If you live in Oregon or plan to visit, one of the most beautiful parks is just an hour’s drive from Portland and known as the Wildwood Recreation Site. We stop off often when we are playing on the mountain, and always take bikes because there is an amazing network of paved pathways throughout the 580 acre park.
When Trevor was younger he enjoyed the Cascade Streamwatch facility that allows an underwater view of a mountain stream. Now he says it’s a bit childish, but we always seem to find our way there when we visit.
The meandering salmon river cuts through the center of the park and offers numerous opportunities to dip your feet in when hot. The bridge in the image today takes you to a 70 square-mile wetland area where you can see amazing wildlife! There is a small admission for park entrance, and places to grill your lunch if you like.
