During the fall when rain is more plentiful in Oregon, we tend to stay indoors at the cabin and not do much of anything. But on those rare blue-sky days, when the sun is shining and the forest is alive with color, we force ourselves to get outside. Although we have spent a lot of time hiking around Mt. Hood, we never had taken the trail to Umbrella and Sahalie Falls until a week ago. It turned out to be about a four-mile loop of moderate intensity, but so worth it!
Capturing the gentle flow of water during daytime can easily be done utilizing a neutral density filter and slow shutter speed. If you have never used such a filter they are really quite handy and easy to use.
