Have you ever heard of Humans of New York, or HONY? It’s the brainchild of Brandon Stanton, who set out to photograph 10,000 New York strangers and plot them on a map. While the project began as a sort of visual census of the city, his engagement with subjects has led to an even deeper exploration of those who inhabit New York City. Through his work we are offered an opportunity to truly see our interconnectedness with each other. I love the concept and applaud what he is doing. Check out his site and consider picking up a copy of his soon to be released book, Humans of New York. I hope one day we can meet and take some pictures together!
As for the photo a day, we love Times Square in the rain! The reflected colors make for one heck of a free light show.
