This summer we had planned to take a long overdue trip to some exotic place, but instead, ended up spending all our time (and money) fixing up our house to sell! In short, we moved into our current neighborhood for the school and now have moved our son to a school outside of district. Because the house is more than we need and expensive to maintain, we have decided to move into a condo closer to the new school. What excites us the most about this upcoming change is that the condo is located in the heart of a very walkable neighborhood, thus allowing us to decrease our dependency on vehicles. Even more, the smaller space allows us to simplify our life, save money, and travel more easily since we will have no yard to maintain. But the process of selling a house, always keeping it clean for showings, and waiting for an offer is sure taxing!
All of that just to say that we did manage to squeeze in a week in San Diego! It was not all fun for me because I was attending a work conference, but we did manage to slip away as a family and visit the famous San Diego Zoo. We also walked along the pier at night and dreamed about sailing off into the sunset.
