As I was heading back to the hotel after an evening of shooting I caught up to a couple walking together under the bright night lights. It was really quite romantic, or so I imagined, so I kept back a bit and quickly set up my tripod for the shot. I know it’s a little strange shooting people when they don’t know they are being photographed. But in this case I felt fine doing it because the essence of the image I wanted to create was about love.
As parents, spending time alone as a couple is among the more challenging of endeavors, but so critical to keeping love alive! We are so fortunate to have grandparents and an aunt that help us when we need time alone. At the same time, because date nights are so important, we have a special babysitter set up for a specific night of the week just to make sure it happens. Not to say that all our dates are wonderful, but because they tend to occur in relaxing environments, no matter how we are doing, getting a way for an evening is a good thing!
