This shot reminds me of the work of Ray Atkeson who perhaps more than any other photographer put Mt. Hood on the map. Most of his work was done between the 1930s and 50s, including thousands of black & white images of winter and ski scenes now considered among the finest representations of that era.
A nice display of his work can be seen at the Mt. Hood Culture Center & Museum. If you visit Mt. Hood this is one place you should check out! Even though we have been there many times, we still go back often because there are so many cool relics from the past to check out.
