Die while you’re alive and be absolutely dead. Then do whatever you want: it’s all good.
Imagine what life would be like if we could live without fear? None. No fear of failure, no fear of rejection, no fear of sickness, no fear of poverty, no fear of the future, no fear of death. No fear at all.
What would life be like?
Experiencing fear means we are human. It’s a natural biological response to a threat which can be life-saving. At the same time, fear can also rob us of living fully when our ability to differentiate real from illusory threats breaks down. When this happens life closes us into a box. We want to do everything we can to stay safe, and consequently we stop taking the risks necessary to grow in life.
Addressing fear in our life takes tremendous courage! It requires the willingness to step ever closer to what frightens us. But doing so does not mean we have to overwhelm ourselves in the process. Good therapists know how to facilitate working with fear in safe ways that allow us to feel it, process it, understand it, and harness it for our own growth.
Honestly, I would not want to experience life without fear, it’s an incredibly powerful and useful human emotion. But left unchecked, it can paralyze us. If you know fear permeates your life in unhealthy ways, then consider finding some who can help you redefine fear’s role in your life.
