We are approaching the six month mark for having our house on the market with no offers, which has been frustrating given that our friends, agents and even many who walk through our house say it’s a wonderful abode, priced right, and should sell soon! But we have realized that after quite a few showings and no offers, that perhaps we may be part of the problem! Energetically, we have had one foot in and one foot out the door for many reasons.
Like I said, it’s a great house in many ways, so leaving for the unknown is a bit scary. At the same time, we know a downsized lifestyle will enhance our opportunities for travel, reduce our focus on materialism, and free up time that otherwise would be spent maintaining an older house. To rid the house of our ambivalence, we decided to take the leap and smudge the house of all spirits that may be compromising our plan. Think this is a little crazy? It may be, but we know a couple of folks who had their properties for sale far longer than us and got offers soon after smudging.
So today, Kelly did a thorough cleaning of the house and then smudged all the nooks and crannies throughout, repeating the sacred house chant to toss out all sprits that have become attached to us. Because she needed to be in her own zone, Trevor and I were out running errands and only returned home to witness the end of the ceremony. Now there is nothing left to do but sort through all the incoming offers. And yes, we will be more than happy to give credit to mom for this one!
I processed the image of the Lincoln Memorial today using my special smudging technique, in honor of Kelly’s valiant attempt to help us all move on with our lives. I am sure Lincoln would appreciate being free of all the bad spirits as well.
