Every year I approach the holidays with trepidation. One part of me loves the festive music, lights, and enhanced community that comes from celebrations. At the same time, another part of me dreads the constant badgering from retailers, traffic, and stress brought on by the holidays.
As a family we continue to search for ways to make the holidays a positive experience. Being in New York has always been a bright star! We love seeing Christmas shows like the Rockettes and visiting Santa Clause at Macys. And it’s hard not be in awe of the giant Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center. There is a spirit that is very alive in the city!
So the image today of the giant Christmas tree bulbs is in honor of the real spirit that motivates the holiday season. It’s a reminder to consciously think about how you want to spend your time during the holidays, with whom, and what you want to focus on.
