I just got back from Chicago and was fortunate to have an evening free to take a few pictures. While it was a bit chilly, the ice in the river made for some interesting shots. This one I took on a bridge which shook considerably every time a car raced by, which meant lots of waiting in the cold for just the right moment.
DELICIOUS GREEN ZEBRA
Now that we are more than committed to eating a whole-food plant-based diet, I really enjoy seeking out cool restaurants like Green Zebra in Chicago that cater to healthy eating, but lack absolutely nothing in taste! This place was awesome. No wait, quiet, friendly and responsive waiter, and delicious food. Before our dietary change figuring out what to eat was always somewhat of a chore due to the number of options available. Now I simply go with the waiter’s recommendation because I assume they know a lot more than I do about what vegan dishes are best. And the suggestions I got at Green Zebra did not let me down! Here is what I ate:
- Hen of The Woods Mushroom, Vidalia onion marmalade, house pickles
- Acorn Squash Dumplings, soy caramel, carrot sesame puree, shaved radish
- Sweet Potato Risotto, grilled castle franco, Spence Farm rutabaga, molasses
- Peanut Butter & Jelly Bombe, graham cracker, orange coulis
I was telling Trevor about the dinner and he quickly smiled back and said he had recently eaten at the Pink Crocodile funny kid.
