In our experience, the best travel stroller is the Maclaren Volo Stroller. Unfortunately, it took us several trips to determine which travel strollers were not worth taking!
For our first trip to New York with our then toddler, we brought a very basic umbrella stroller. It turned out to be a disaster! The stroller was wobbly and difficult to maneuver on the city streets of NYC. By the time we got it home the wheels had been chewed up from all of the walking we had done on the city streets and sidewalks.
When we are in New York we spend a lot of time walking! It was extremely important for us to have a a stroller that was easy to maneuver and could take the heavy use we put it through on our trips to New York. We also wanted a stroller that could collapse easily so we could get around in the airports as well as in and out of transportation when we were traveling.
The first time we took our new stroller to New York we could tell it was a keeper. Not only was it easy to move around, but we also found that there was just enough storage space to put things we needed easy access to. We ended up purchasing the rain cover and found it to be a great addition when the weather turned on us.
It didn’t take long for us to replace the stroller we used when we were home with our new travel stroller. In the end the Maclaren became our go to stroller as well as our travel stroller. It is worth the investment to buy a high quality stroller that can serve multiple purposes .
I just wish we had bought the Maclaren to begin with!
