It has now been about six months since we all switched to a whole foods diet, and I am happy to report we are still going strong! Despite temptations at every turn – like the yummy café in the image today – we have surprisingly not felt a significant loss in not eating animal products. From time to time our son will yearn for eggs, and I do miss occasionally the taste of salmon. But the switch has led to an entirely new menu of tasty options that we never even knew existed (or maybe we did, but were afraid to try).
If you have yet to watch Forks Over Knives, then it will be hard understanding why we are so supportive of eating a whole-food plant-based diet. If you know what the documentary is about, and simply don’t want to go there, we understand. It took two years for us to watch the film after first learning about, so everyone has to come to dietary changes in their own time and way.
